Recreation
The region is home to the well renowned “Oley Fair”. The fair brings people from throughout the state for 4H events, entertainment and food. It’s a good time for all.
Cultural activities include a sponsored “Make a Wish Foundation” event whose proceeds are used to fulfill the wish to an individual with a life-threatening medical condition.
There is also fine dining at the Stokesay Castle and the famous Pagoda, an out of place reproduction of a Chinese pagoda with an amazing view high above the city of Reading.
Convenient Commuting
Rt. 73 and Rt. 222 provide easy access to the Reading and Allentown Areas. Reading also features an airport and minor league baseball at First Energy Stadium (the Reading Phillies). Blue Marsh Recreational Area is within 20 minutes of Exeter and Oley. This is a facility consisting of a large man-made lake suitable for boating, water sports and fishing. It also includes sand beaches and picnic areas.
Shopping
Vanity Fair is featured at the Reading Outlets. Also, West Reading provides unique stores and shops for specialty gifts. There is also the Berkshire Mall nearby.
Schools
The school system consists of a high school, a junior high school, a middle school and three elementary schools. This area is home to the Berks County Vocational Technical School. Private schools include Central Catholic.
